AEROPLANES

19th June

Extra 300: Nr River Calder, Yorks
The aircraft crashed killing the pilot during an aerobatic display at the Methley Bridge Boatyard Festival.

29th May

N Reg Beech B55 Baron: Menorca, Spain
The UK Midlands based N registered aircraft crashed shortly after taking off from San Luis Mahon airport while preparing to participate in Air Race Menorca. The occupants, the pilot and his son, were killed when it impacted approx 100 metres from the end of the runway, reportedly while in a tight turn. The Spanish Authority is investigating.

9th May

Mooney M20B: Nr Old Buckenham, Norfolk
The sole occupant was killed when the UK registered aircraft crashed and burned in a field. The pilot was said to be a foreign national.

17th April

Dyn'Aero MCR-01 Ban-Bi: Moxton, Nr Andover, Hants
Both occupants were killed when the aircraft crashed when returning to Bournemouth after visiting Duxford, Cambs.

15th January

N Reg Piper PA31 Navajo nr Oxford Airport
Both occupants were killed when the N registered aircraft crashed and burnt at Bladon near Oxford Airport while on a local flight from the airport.

GLIDERS

8th August
SZD Foka 4: Bicester Airfield, Oxon
The 25 year old pilot of the Polish single seat wooden glider was killed when it crashed, reportedly as a result of wing failure at about 1,000ft. The pilot had been gliding for about 10 years and had flown it earlier in the day. The glider design is over 30 years old.

MICROLIGHTS

18th January
Pegasus Quik R: Channel nr Boulogne
The pilot was killed when the microlight went into the sea during an attempted solo charity flight from Gloucestershire Airport, Staverton to Australia.

PARACHUTES

4th June
Single parachutes: nr Langar, Notts
While taking part in a free-fall practice with four others, two experienced parachutists collided just after deploying their parachutes. These became entangled and both died on impact after they were unable to deploy their reserve 'chutes.
